Unless you are attending a pre-arranged course we encourage a free 30 minute consultation with Imam, to discuss your needs and for Imam to assess your current level. Rather than a set number of weeks, you will work through the syllabus at your own pace, which will depend on your ability and the amount of time you can dedicate to practise outside of class time.
Most people, for both Quran and Language, are advised to work through 'Proper pronunciation of the Arabic Alphabet', which provides an excellent foundation for future work.
Imam is often asked if he uses a particular set of books to teach. The answer is no. In the matter of tajweed Imam feels that books and other learning aids oversimplify the rules, and that learning in a traditional manner directly from a teacher is more beneficial.
Imam uses various resources to teach the language classes, but the student is expected to take their own notes rather than working through a text book.
